When RealD wanted to come up with an idea for their new trailer in stereoscopic 3d that would appeal to both families and Beowolf watching adrenaline junkies, we put on our favorite kicks and went straight for our usual stroll on the beach to get inspired. Passing by a small boy playing frisbee with his puppy, we instantly realized that a robotic dog chasing a ball would be the perfect story for this thing. What better mascot for a high tech 3d company than a synthetic version of man's best friend?
We took this spot from concept, through character design, to animation and delivery in 3D. There is nothing quite like seeing all of our hard work come together in glorious sterescopic 3d on a 65 foot movie theater screen. Not since the days of Captain EO have we had this much fun.
